POLSON – Mission Valley residents are being warned about a scam that’s making the rounds.
Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says his office has received a complaint that someone is “spoofing” the main Lake County Dispatch number (406) 883.7301. The caller then demands money due to outstanding warrants or fines.
Law enforcement in Lake County are not making such demands of citizens via phone, according to Sheriff Bell. Anyone who receives a similar call is asked to hang up and then report the incident to law enforcement.
