MISSOULA – On Friday, Missoula County Public Schools participated in Active Resistance Training at Rattlesnake Elementary.

MCPS officials say it is imperative that their staff understand how they might respond when confronted with a crisis situation and what measures they can take to protect students and themselves.

In this one-day class, they will learn disaster response psychology, what they can do before and during an incident, what to expect from law enforcement and emergency personnel, how to use the "Run, Lock, Fight" response, and discover through live scenarios how they would respond to an active threat.

Tonight on the 10 o’clock news, Lauren Heiser goes behind the scenes to see this training in action.
