MISSOULA – Community Medical Center cut 16 positions last week, citing a reduction in state Medicaid payments of more than $6 million in 2018 due to state budget cuts.

In a letter sent from CMC to KPAX TV Monday afternoon,  CMC said they made the difficult decision to realign some areas of its workforce in order to meet the current challenges, but also to better prepare the facility in the face of the planned elimination of the state Medicaid Expansion or HELP Act in 2019.

This realignment has resulted in the elimination of 16 positions at Community Medical Center effective immediately.
