POLSON – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has announced some changes in the Sheriff Labor Detail.
Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says they are reducing program fees until June 21 in cooperation with Lake County Justice Court. Those who owe jail time in excess of six days will be given credit for three days of jail time for one day on the Sheriff Labor Detail, according to a news release.
The program currently gives two days jail credit for one day of work, which is state law. For the Spring Special, those who have less than six days owed will pay half-price fees.
Sheriff Bell adds that those who owe time and do not book a spot on the detail before June 21, may have a warrant issued for their arrest.
Although the Lake County jail is at capacity, Sheriff Bell says specific bed-space will be reserved for these persons and once arrested, they will stay the duration of their sentence.
