The Missoula Current reports the commissioner, and former Missoula City Councilman had to have emergency heart surgery over the weekend.
Strohmaier posted on his Facebook page that he was hospitalized after doctors discovered a "nearly completely blocked left anterior descending artery to his heart."
Strohmaier had to have stints inserted but posted that he’s been recovering at St. Patrick Hospital for the past few days, saying he "might be a little slow responding to emails or phone calls the next few days.
Strohmaier served a couple of terms on the Missoula City Council, running for Congress after he left the council and then being elected as Missoula County Commissioner in 2016.
