Search underway for missing hiker near Missoula

MISSOULA – Authorities are looking for an overdue hiker in the Pattee Canyon Recreation Area.

Missoula County Search and Rescue is looking for Micheal Kreisberg, 78, who was believed to be hiking with his dog in the Crazy Canyon Trailhead area on Tuesday.

Kreisberg was last seen wearing blue jeans, long sleeve blue top, and may have had a small backpack. His dog, Misha, is approximately 45 pounds with long black fur with white and brown patches.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the University of Montana Police Department and Two Bear Air all taking part in the search.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone who may have seen Kreisberg to contact law enforcement.
