Downtown Missoula “suspicious” item turns out to be rice cooker

MISSOULA – If you were downtown Missoula on Friday evening you may have noticed police activity.

The Missoula Police Department tells MTN News that the 200 Block of Higgins Ave was closed off while a suspicious item was under investigation. 

Police report that after an investigation by a special explosive ordinance team, the suspicious package turned out to be a rice cooker.

An adult male in custody with two major warrants out of Lewis and Clark County, one for criminal mischief.

The individual remains in custody but was not charged with anything related to the "suspicious" package scare.
