BROADUS – A man is dead after his vehicle collided with a semi-truck on Saturday.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports the victim, who was driving a van, attempted to pass another vehicle westbound along U.S. Highway 212. The man did not see the oncoming semi and both veered to the south side of the road before hitting head-on.
Both vehicles caught fire, according to the report, and became engulfed in flames. The driver of the Dodge was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash but was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
This marks the 31st death on Montana roadways in 2018.
