WOLF POINT – Family and friends continue to search for a Wolf Point man who is assumed to have drowned after he jumped into the Missouri River on Friday to save someone who fell in.

Jason B. Azure, 40, jumped in after someone fell in and was swept downstream. Azure did not resurface but the other person was able to get out of the fast flowing river.

Azure’s family is upset with the slow response to the search efforts.

"They got a little boat down there right now looking other than that there’s only going to be family and friends coming in a couple other boats there was someone looking this morning on the river just someone from the community who cares," said Brenda Calder, Azure’s mother. "Jason loved everyone, he was a people person, he didn’t have much in his own life and he gave everything he had to help people."

We reached out to law enforcement for an update but have yet to hear back.
