BONNER – The Bonner Elementary School District is asking voters to approve a technology levy on Tuesday, May 8.

The levy request is for $35,004.30 per year for 10 years for the support of student and learning-related technology.

The money would be used for classes in robotics and 3-D printing, purchasing computer equipment, increasing their bandwidth and improving communication with parents through text, robo-calls and teacher websites.

A Technology Committee would also be formed to provide vision and leadership to ensure good stewardship of district resources.

Passage of this proposal will increase the taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by approximately $10.12 annually.

The increases in taxes for a home with a market value of $200,000 would be about $20.25 annually.
