MISSOULA – Local fire officials will be training on the Clark Fork River on Thursday.
The Missoula Fire Department and the Whitewater Rescue Institute will be conducting swift water rescue training on between the Sha Ron access in East Missoula and downtown Missoula until 3 p.m.
Firefighters and rescue watercraft will be seen on the Clark Fork River during the training exercise. There will also be emergency vehicles staged in the area. Fire officials note that this is not a demonstration, but a technical rescue training exercise for firefighters.
With local rivers and temperatures on the rise, the Missoula Fire Department is reminding everyone to use caution when recreating in or around rapidly moving water.
