MISSOULA – Montana Rail Link’s project on East Broadway overpass began Tuesday.
MRL spokesman Jim Lewis says this work is part of a larger project that includes track maintenance and upgrades from East Missoula to the Missoula rail yard. East Broadway will be reduced to one lane between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The project is expected to be completed in early July.
“This project will result in improved flow of trains in and out of Missoula. MRL is coordinating with the state of Montana and will place signage on East Broadway and alternative routes that alerts the traveling public of partial and full road closures," Lewis said.
"We highly recommend that residents use an alternative route during construction. The interstate 90 off-ramp located at East Missoula will not be impacted by this project," Lewis added.
