MISSOULA – Flood levels have now been teetering around the minor to moderate flood level mark for the past two days along the Clark Fork River in Missoula.
That means that some residents have been able to return to their homes to grab necessities or to prepare for the next round of flooding that is expected to begin again on Thursday.
Some residents have begun that preparation and have had some questions for officials including one from a resident who is wondering about showering or doing laundry.
The Salvation Army and YMCA are offering their showers and laundry facilities to those in need and you do not need to be staying at the building to use those services.
One resident who’s looking towards the future had a question of what to do with sandbags when flooding season ends.
“I got a phone call from the landlady wanting to know what are intentions were with the sandbags. Cause after its all done said and done she wants us to dispose of them and not on the property," Marc Gonzalez said. "So I came here to find out what to do with all the sandbags and where was a disposal place or a return place.”
Missoula County does not have a plan in place for sandbag disposal at this time but officials say that will be a part of the recovery process which is still in the process of planning.
