MISSOULA – During a Thursday meeting, the Missoula Redevelopment Agency approved an additional $500,000 to support the new Missoula Public Library project.

A $30 million bond to construct a new, four-story public library in Missoula passed in November 2016.

Now, the Missoula Public Library and Foundation says they need this additional money to ensure they can complete the project.

In a letter to the MRA, library project stakeholders say that more money is needed because of increased construction and material costs.

The money will come from a $200,000 cash payment from the MRA and a tax increment increase over the course of a few years to make up the $300,000 difference.
