MISSOULA – The 50th  anniversary of a Missoula youth organization kicked off Thursday evening at the Dennis and Phyllis Washington ranch.

Young Life Missoula has impacted the lives of thousands of Missoula youth who have received mentoring and support as they navigated growing up. The group launched in 1941 and grew into an international organization with a passion for helping students transition from childhood into adulthood.

There was dinner, a silent auction, and a keynote speaker on Thursday. One of the participants who has spent 2½ involved in the organization said she doesn’t know who she would have been without the program.

"Its always there for you to fall back on. Like, they are always there for you, no matter how active you want to be, no matter how busy you are. My leaders text me like do you want to go for a hike this weekend, we fit it in between like when I am working, and that is just so special because they definitely come to you," said Victoria Padgett-Stewart.
