Interviews set to pick new Glacier High School principal

KALISPELL – The Kalispell School District plans to interview three educators as the search continues to find a new principal for Glacier High School.

The move comes after the current Glacier High School principal was promoted to the Assistant Superintendent role. District officials plan on interviewing three candidates this week: Cody J. Reutzel, Micah Hill and Ryan Rettig.

Reutzel, who began his career teaching in the Lincoln School district, is currently an Assistant Principal at Stansbury High School, in Stansbury Park, Utah. He has a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Engineering and Technology Education from Utah State University.

Hill received his Bachelor’s of Arts English Education from Montana State University and went on to obtain his Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana in 2003. His first teaching position was with Flathead High School in 2001 and has served 11 years as assistant principal for at GHS.

Rettig, who is currently the Principal at Washington Elementary, Kennewick, Washington, received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Studies/English from Washington State University. He went on to receive his Master’s of Arts in Education Administration from Heritage University. Rettig has been teaching high school since 2000.

Interviews with the candidates will be held on Wednesday starting at 8 a.m. at Glacier High School.
