WASHINGTON, DC – A community health center in northwest Montana is getting a funding boost thanks to a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) secured the funds for the Northwest Community Health Center in Libby. The money aims to strengthen affordable, quality health care in Lincoln County.

“Community health centers provide top-notch, affordable health care to folks across Big Sky Country. From flu shots to cancer screenings, Northwest Community Health Center keeps families healthy without emptying their wallets," Sen. Tester said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Montana’s community health centers came close to running out of money and many were forced to consider layoffs or closure when their funding expired.
