STEVENSVILLE – Stevensville School Resource Officer Sam Fawcett has resigned.
Fawcett was under criminal investigation by the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office, the reason for which remains unclear.
He has been on leave from the Stevensville Police Department since April 10.
Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton says that with the completed investigation, the county attorney will decide on charges.
"The case regarding the School Resource Officer in Stevensville, the criminal investigation has been completed, at least to this point, and turned over to the county attorney’s office," Holton said. "I would expect there to be some time to review that and then a comment, and some more information when they are done with that."
