ROCK CREEK – A man is missing after a raft capsized on Rock Creek in Granite County Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say one person was reported to have made it to safety when the raft capsized in the Harry’s Flat area while the other man was not seen to surface after the incident.

Granite County Sheriff Scott Dunkerson says crews were dispatched to the lower Rock Creek area shortly after 4:30 p.m. for a report of a capsized raft on a logjam.

Granite County deputies, Search and Rescue, a LifeFlight helicopter and Missoula County Swift Water Rescue have been searching the area for the missing man.

"Waters in Western Montana continue to be very high, swift and cold and we would like to send a reminder to all rafters using rivers and streams to use extreme caution," Sheriff Dunkerson said.
