KALISPELL – One of the can’t-miss events of the Flathead Valley is the "Taste of Kalispell" on Thursday which will take place, rain or shine, on the big lawn at the Museum at Central School in Kalispell.

The event is an opportunity for the community to sample and enjoy the many restaurants and businesses in the community. All proceeds from the event will support the Museum at Central School.

The Museum’s Executive Director, Jacob Thomas, says the museum does receive grants but those funds are project specific. He says Taste of Kalispell is the biggest fundraiser of the year for operational expenses to run the museum.

"The heating and cooling bills and the water and keeping the electricity," Thomas said. "Everything like that we cannot accomplish without donations, and fundraisers and membership. So all of that money comes directly from the community and we’re happy to give it back by providing tours and education and things like that."

The event is the unofficial kick-off to Thursday Fest which begins next week.

Tickets are available at The Kalispell Visitors Center and the Museum at Central School or the day of the event. Admission costs also covers food and drinks at $30 for adults and $20 for children aged 11-15. Kids 10 and under get in free.
