KPAX Archive: Remembering Lewis and Clark’s return to Lolo (2009)

MISSOULA – We head back to 2009 for this week’s KPAX Archive and look back at an event at Travelers Rest State Park in Lolo that commemorated Lewis and Clark’s return trip from the Pacific Ocean.

 Montana State Parks will celebrate Expedition Days at Travelers’ Rest State Park from June 30 th and July 1st  to mark the anniversary of the second visit by the Lewis and Clark Expedition to Travelers’ Rest State Park.

There will be historical presentations, weaving and spinning demonstration, tipi raising, black powder rifle demonstrations and rope making as well as rock painting and a post-mortem petting zoo for the kids.

The event runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day at Travelers Rest State Park which is located on US Highway 12 just west of Lolo. Call (406) 273-4253 for more information.
