3 arrested in Bozeman for alleged meth lab

BOZEMAN – Three Bozeman roommates arrested and charged with operating a meth lab appeared in Gallatin County Justice Court on Monday morning.

Damon M. Orton, 23, Aaron Orton, 23, and Chelsea Godinez, 21, were each charged with operating a clandestine laboratory, a felony.

Charging documents state that on Friday, June 22nd Gallatin County Sheriff deputies served a search warrant after being contacted by a concerned citizen who reported the three were manufacturing methamphetamine at a house on High Tower Road outside Bozeman.

When interviewed, Godinez reportedly admitted to operating the lab with Damon Orton’s help.

During a search of a bedroom, deputies located chemicals, precursors to dangerous drugs, supplies, and equipment for the criminal production of dangerous drugs. The chemicals included muriatic acid, cold packs, lithium batteries, Coleman fuel, and lye.

Damon Orton and Godinez’ bail was set at $10,000 and Aaron Orton’s was set at $5,000. The next court appearance for all three is set for July 20th .
