Kalispell Public Schools announced a grand opening ceremony is planned in August for the new Rankin Elementary School currently under construction on cities south side.

The big reveal and ribbon cutting is set for Tuesday, August 28th at 5 p.m.

It’s the first new elementary school Kalispell has built in 30 years. The District broke ground back in June of 2017 after voters approved a $22 million elementary bond in 2016.

The school joins a fleet of five other elementary schools in the district where construction improvements also included in the bond are underway.

Construction was fast-tracked due to overcrowding at the other elementary schools. The layout is designed to reflect a 21st-century approach to learning with flexible workspaces.

The levy will provide support in opening the new school and for its operational costs. Rankin Elementary will welcome more than 350-kids this Fall.
