RONAN – The Lake County Fair has been going on since Sunday and continues through this Sunday at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Ronan.

The fair is centered around its livestock shows, and event organizers say the fair is especially focused on young 4-H members.

Wednesday kicked off market beef judging and Thursday’s livestock schedule features goats, sheep and rabbits.

A lot of work and preparation goes into each livestock animal and kids put a lot of time in with their animals before they get to competition.

"These kind of projects are different from the market projects which is at a time limit. The small animals, like the poultry and the rabbits, these kids take care of these animals 24/7 365 days a year," said Lorrie Lake, the Poultry and Rabbit Barn Superintendent of the Lake County Fair. "So these kind of become attached there kind of like pets. They get to know them really personal."

The ranch rodeo starts Saturday and event organizers say it’s one of the best parts to the lake county fair.

There is also a kids zone with games and prizes that is free admission.
