Numerous small wildfires break out in Lincoln County

LIBBY – Officials with the Kootenai National Forest are reporting that seven small fires are burning in the Three Rivers District Ranger District near Troy.

The area — which is currently in a Stage 1 Fire Restriction — is 13 miles southeast of the Idaho/Montana border and is home to many lakes, camping sites and hiking trails.

The very small blazes are burning in remote areas and combined they total roughly 15 acres.

The Feeder Fire is the largest at 11 acres with three local firefighters and one helicopter working the flames. Meanwhile, the Callahan Fire is at 2.5 acres with two local firefighters and 15 smokejumpers assigned to battle the blaze.

The Raymond Fire is holding at just over an acre while the Pony fire is at .25 acres and the Pulpit 1, Pulpit 2 and Okaga fires are at .10 acres.
