Three names have been submitted to Governor Steve Bullock to fill the vacant seat of Ravalli District Court Judge James Haynes who is retiring.
The Judicial Nomination Commission interviewed candidates Jennifer Boatwright Lint, Howard Frank Recht, and Thomas John Schoenleben Jr. on Monday for the 21st Judicial District seat.
The Commission’s actions follows the close of a 30 day public comment period.
The person appointed by Gov. Bullock is subject to Montana Senate confirmation during the 2019 legislative session. The position is then subject to election in 2020, and the successful candidate will serve a six-year term.
