The U.S. State Department delivered a victory to TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline Monday.

According to Bloomberg News, the department found the conduit’s approved, alternate route would have no significant environmental impacts in the state of Nebraska.

That new route was approved by Nebraska regulators and of eight categories inspected by the department, only one was proven to have a negligible effect.

The 1,200-mile pipeline would help carry 830,000 barrels of crude a day from Alberta’s tar sands to U.S. Gulf Coast refiners.

The pipeline is the subject of a lawsuit before the Nebraska Supreme Court and has overcome other legal challenges, but it has obtained all state and federal permits.

TransCanada has not officially announced it will build the pipeline which would run through eastern Montana.
