THOMPSON FALLS – A Red Flag Warning will cover Western Montana from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. meaning that critical fire conditions can be expected with gusty west winds and low humidity.
Sanders County Wildland Fire Information reports in a Facebook post that since the one-acre Lynx Fire was declared out on Wednesday, the Winniemuck Fire is the only remaining fire being managed by the Plains Dispatch Center.
The blaze is listed as contained at seven-tenths of an acre and has seven firefighters still on the scene. It’s burning approximately 10 miles north of Thompson Falls.
The CS&KT Division of Fire is continuing to manage the Garden Creek fire which is burning outside of Hot Springs. The blaze is now estimated at 15 to 20 acres.
Stage 1 Fire Restrictions remain in effect on the Cabinet Ranger District and will go into effect for all private land and DNRC protected areas in Sanders County on Friday.
