LIBBY – The Davis fire burning in the Kootenai National Forest has grown from a little over 300 acres to 375 acres.

Fire managers say that most of the growth has been seen on the western edge of the blaze as it continues to burn in a heavily timbered area.

Crews are continuing to build firelines along the north, east south and southwest sides of the blaze.

A Type II Incident Management Team is working the fire which is burning 10 miles northwest of Yaak.

The Davis fire is reported to be 10% contained.

The nearby Porcupine fire has burned 17 acres with fire managers reporting 85% containment.
