Ten Mile fire grows to over 560 acres

LIBBY – The Ten Mile fire which is burning 18 miles southwest of Eureka in Lincoln County has now scorched an estimated 663 acres and is 15% contained.

Fire managers report that crews continued to make good progress fighting the blaze on Wednesday with the help of helicopter water drops.

The fire is slowly working its way downslope with isolated torching.

There are now 285 people and a Type II Incident Management Team assigned to battle the lightning-sparked blaze which began burning on July 31st.

Several road and trail closures remain in effect in the area for firefighter and public safety purposes.
