ROSEBUD COUNTY- Authorities are continuing to search for a 43-year-old man who slipped into the Tongue River Wednesday in the Birney area and reportedly drowned.
Rosebud County Sheriff Allen Fulton said a diver was dispatched Thursday to the area of the river where the man reportedly fell in but had no luck. A boat with a sonar was on the scene Wednesday to try to identify the location, he said.
Search dogs from the area and local with boats have pitched in to help search for the man, who was swimming with family, Fulton said.
The Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page Thursday that it had received a call at 4 p.m. the previous day of a drowning in the Birney area of the Tongue River in Rosebud County.
