LODGE GRASS – One man is dead after a crash near Lodge Grass on Friday morning.
The crash was reported around 8:40 a.m. on Secondary Highway 451, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
MHP said the crash occurred when the driver ran off the road and tried to over-correct. The car hit an embankment and began to roll.
Two passengers were thrown from the vehicle with one man being pronounced died on scene. The victim was a 21-year-old Crow Agency man. MHP said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver, a 19-year-old from Crow Agency, and a 17-year-old female passenger were transported to the Crow hospital. The woman was not wearing her seat belt, and it is unclear if the driver was using his.
Another passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Billings with unknown injuries. She was also not wearing a seat belt.
Troopers said alcohol and speed are both suspected factors in the crash.
