Search underway for teen who left foster family in Yellowstone NP

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – A West Virginia girl is missing, after running away from her foster family in Yellowstone National Park.

Lachaela “Shay” Putnick, 14, had been in the custody of West Virginia Child Protective Services but was temporarily placed with a foster family in Wyoming, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

She left the family on August 7 th while on a trip to Yellowstone and has not made contact with family or authorities since then. According to the sheriff’s department, Putnick has ties to Billings as well as cities in Wyoming, Colorado, West Virginia and Florida.

Putnick is described as having brown hair, brown eyes is 5’4" tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.
