MISSOULA – A 64-year-old Missoula man is accused of sexually abusing and exploiting two young children.

Jack Eldon Jarvey is charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of sexual abuse of children and one count of intimidation.

According to court documents, a Missoula police detective was notified on March 14, 2016 of a juvenile female who reported to hospital staff that when she was younger she and her brother had been sexually abused by Jarvey.

The detective reached out to the children’s mother, who said neither the girl or boy were willing to talk to law enforcement about the abuse.

In February 2018, Doe’s mother contacted Missoula police saying that her daughter was willing to speak to law enforcement about the alleged sexual abuse.

Both children reported to authorities and First Step that they would go to Jarvey’s home on the weekends.

John Doe told authorities he was 8 to 9 years old and his sister was 6 to 7 years old when they started going to Jarvey’s home.

Both children reported that, in addition to the abuse, Jarvey would also make them watch pornography.

The relationship between the children, mother and the defendant is unclear.

Jarvey is being held in the Missoula County Detention Center. If convicted he faces up to 100 years in the Montana State Prison.
