THOMPSON FALLS – Sanders County Attorney Bob Zimmerman has withdrawn his name for re-election.
Sanders County Clerk and Recorder Nichol Scribner tells KPAX that Zimmerman withdrew his name on Monday. It is not known why Zimmerman withdrew from the race.
Naomi Leisz was the other county attorney candidate on the November ballot.
Because the county attorney race is non-partisan, state election law requires the county to open the race for 10 days.
Scribner says anyone interested in appearing on the ballot has until 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23 to file with the Clerk and Recorder’s office.
