LOLO- Lolo residents have been reporting an increase in crime in the community and now, they want to do something about it.

The Lolo Community Council started the Lolo Neighborhood Crime Watch group last month, and now they are looking for members.

There are already over 350 people are now members on their Facebook group.

The group plans to organize community members to put up signs and receive training about how to protect their neighborhood, according to Tim Jacobs, the watch coordinator.

Missoula County Sheriff’s Office staff also talked about ways to keep homes and neighbors safe this evening.

“We had an increase in thefts, burglaries, that kind of thing, and we want to start a watch to not only watch our community, watch each other, and let the bad guys know that we are watching and if you want to do bad things you need to go somewhere else instead of Lolo,” Jacobs said.

If you are interested in the group, you can look up their Facebook page or send coordinators an email at lolo.ncw@gmail.com.
