RONAN – While renovations continue in Ronan on the new Boys and Girl’s club facility, a grant will help pay for a new clubhouse in Polson.

The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has awarded a $1 million grant to the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County.

The new Polson Clubhouse will give the Boys & Girls Club the ability to serve hundreds of kids a year, and up to 200 kids a day. The club currently can only serve about 50 a day in its smaller facility.

Groundbreaking on the new center is scheduled for next year adjacent to Polson Middle School and Polson High School on land donated by Saint Joseph’s Medical Center.

The Boys and Girl’s Club provide positive after-school programs along with a healthy snack or a meal. The demand is so great, there is a waiting list in both Ronan and Polson.
