BUTTE – Butte police are asking for help from the public to identify a man who stole money from two Butte hotels.
Authorities say the man stole more than $250 from the front desks of the Holiday Inn Express on Harrison Avenue and the Fairfield Inn on Cornell Avenue Friday evening.
In both cases, the man distracted the employee at the front desk by telling them the ice machine was broken and took the cash when they left the desk.
