Fire restrictions being eased in Lincoln County

LIBBY – The recent cooler and wetter weather in Northwest Montana has prompted officials to ease fire restrictions.

Stage II Fire Restrictions will be lifted in Lincoln County, the City of Libby and on the Kootenai National Forest at 12:01 a.m. on Friday.

The change means that campfires will again be allowed, but folks are still be asked to use caution.

The Lincoln County commissioners note in a resolution that the extreme fire dangers in the area has passed.

Stage II Fire Restrictions have also been lifted in Flathead County.
