Jennifer J. Cazier is accused of having methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia near her three young children.

HAVRE – Jennifer J. Cazier, accused of having methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia near her three young children, pleaded not guilty this week in Hill County District Court.

Cazier pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, three felony counts of endangering the welfare of children, and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Havre Herald reports that on July 22 an officer stopped a car on the 400 Block of Second Street for having fictitious license plates. The driver – later identified as Cazier – told the officer she wasn’t the owner of the car. There were three children in the car, ages 5, 6, and 8, one of which was sitting in the front seat without a seatbelt.

Another officer came to assist and told the first officer that Cazier “had a history of distributing dangerous drugs and being in possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.”

One of the officers asked Cazier if there was meth in the car and, according to court documents, Cazier “started shaking and became extremely nervous. She began sweating. She stated she did not think there was any methamphetamine in the vehicle.”

A U.S. Border Patrol K9 was brought in to conduct a non-intrusive search. The dog indicated there were drugs in the car. The car was seized and an agent with the Tri-agency Task Force applied for and was granted a search warrant to inspect the vehicle.

The search warrant revealed that in a purse were 0.3 grams of meth, two Clonazepam pills, a syringe, and three snort tubes. The purse, in addition to the meth, syringe and pills, had a credit card with Cazier’s name on it.
