BILLINGS – A man narrowly escaped being hit by a falling light pole in the Billings Heights on Monday.
Dennis Rudolph was driving to the store in his convertible and was stopped at the intersection of Main Street and Airport Road, when he heard a creak.
A delivery truck had backed into a light pole at a gas station on the corner, and the light pole began to fall into the road.
Rudolph said he quickly moved his car forward as far as he could as the pole fell onto his car, grazing the back of his head and neck.
The pole also hit the hood of another car stopped at the light.
Rudolph sustained minor injuries. Traffic was slow in the area.
