Snowfall totals adding up across Northwest Montana

MISSOULA – The snow keeps piling up across Northwest Montana.

The winter weather is being blamed for several accidents and also forced schools in Bigfork, Kalispell and Polson to call off Wednesday classes.

The National Weather Service is reporting some impressive snow totals including 13″ near Bigfork, 8.5″ in the Whitefish area,  nearly 7.5″ outside of Kalispell and 7″ near Dayton, Rollins, in the Swan Lake area and outside of Somers.

Here’s a look at some of the other snowfall totals from the National Weather Service in Missoula:

Flathead County

  • Columbia Falls area: 5″
  • Marion area: 6″
  • Evergreen area: 5″
  • Kalispell City Airport: 3.4″

Lake County

  • Woods Bay: 4″

Lincoln County

  • Rexford area: 5″
  • Libby area: 3″

Missoula County

  • Evaro area: 3.5″

Sanders County

  • Camas Prarie area: 6″
