HELENA – Six high schools across the state participated in the 2019 Montana Economics Challenge Monday in Helena.
This year marks the 24th annual competition, where 48 students making up 12 teams competed.
Two Helena area schools participated — Capital High School and Helena Christian School.
Students were tested on their knowledge of micro, macro and international economics.
The winning team will take home the “Montana Econ Cup” a trophy that will put on display at their school for the next year. what they have learned from their educators.
Casey Lozar, Assistant Vice President and Outreach Executive for Minneapolis Federal Bank spoke at the event.
“Well, every school teaches economics a little bit differently, and so it depends on the interest of the individual student, if they want to come to the challenge, it’s really up to them.”
Economics Challenge is designed to promote student interest in economics and emphasize on the importance of advanced academics in school.
