One suspect is in custody after Sanders County Officials say he stole 3 vehicles, led them in high speed pursuit, and was later found with a high number of various stolen items from as far away as Idaho.

Sanders County Sheriff Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle reported in the Avista housing area on Sunday.

A resident there was able to provide a license plate number, which came back stolen out of Flathead County.

Deputies were able to locate it a short time later and were involved in a pursuit with speeds in excess of 100 miles-per-hour.

The suspect later went off the road, abandoned the vehicle, and ran into the woods.

While Deputies were searching for him, he stole a local service truck, which was recovered about an hour later.

They then found that he had stolen a THIRD vehicle.

Lincoln County Deputies took up the pursuit, and tracked him to a cabin he had broken into in the Troy area, where he was arrested.

Deputies recovered a large amount of stolen property from guns to chain saws, and say they believe he was involved in several burglaries throughout the area, from Idaho to Lincoln County, MT.

He is currently in custody in Lincoln County facing several burglary and traffic charges, and has not yet been identified.
