LAKESIDE – A head-on collision blocked all lanes of traffic on US Highway 93 north of Lakeside for nearly six hours on Wednesday.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper James Hawkins says a dump truck was traveling south on Highway 93 and a pickup truck was traveling northbound at around 3:30 p.m.
Trooper Hawkins say that unknown reasons, the driver of the pickup truck drifted into the dump truck’s lane.
The dump truck driver swerved to try and avoid the pickup truck but was unable to, at hit the other vehicle head-on.
Four people in the pickup truck were all wearing seat belts and the dump truck driver was not hurt. MHP reports there were no life threatening as a result of the accident,
Trooper Hwakins says that speed and alcohol do not appear to be have been factors in the crash. The MHP is continuing to investigate the incident.
