Anti-Semitic literature found at Whitefish businesses

WHITEFISH — Literature spouting hate speech and antisemitism circulated around to multiple businesses in Whitefish.

The fliers contained well-known white nationalist references such as the number 88, which stands for heil Hitler, and a quote from white nationalist David Lane.

The Montana Human Rights Network believes the fliers were dropped off specifically on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which was on Monday.

Whitefish City Mayor John Muhlfeld denounced the racist literature and vowed to promote tolerance and diversity.

“We emphatically denounce this rhetoric, and stand united in support of our Jewish friends and neighbors, especially during their High Holy Days which began Sunday evening,” Muhlfeld said.

“Whitefish community values recognize and celebrate the dignity, diversity, and inclusion of all its inhabitants and visitors. We will continue to speak loudly to definitively show our furtherance of these values," he added.
