82 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Missoula County

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) is reporting that 82 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Thursday update.

The number of active COVID-19 cases has now risen from 312 on Thursday to 349.

A pair of the new cases as well as seven of Missoula County's active cases are associated with the University of Montana.

A total of 6,775 COVID-19 cases has been confirmed in Missoula County including 6,369 recoveries and 57 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations has dropped to 20 including 12 county residents.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has jumped from 39 on Thursday to 47, according to the latest update.

The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

Community Medical Center and St. Patrick Hospital began COVID-19 vaccine immunizations on Dec. 17.

MCCHD announced on Dec. 4 that the drive-thru COVID-19 testing center located on Flynn Lane is accepting weekend appointments.

The Missoula City-County Board of Health updated the local COVID-19 restrictions on Nov. 19.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.
