MISSOULA — Local health officials are reporting additional confirmed COVID-19 cases in Missoula County.

The Missoula City-County Health Department reported on Wednesday afternoon that the number of cases has jumped to 61.

There are now 59 positive tests as well as two epi-linked COVID-19 cases.

The Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map showed Missoula County with 54 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Wednesday morning report.

Missoula health officials note there are currently 16 active cases and over 120 close contacts. Active cases and close contacts are in quarantine and isolation and will continue being supported by medical staff as needed.

To date, one person has died from COVID-19 in Missoula County while 44 people have recovered.

Health officials report there remains community transmission of COVID-19 in Missoula County -- meaning there are cases that are unable to be linked with other known cases or travel.
