Big Horn County reports 14th COVID-19 related death

HARDIN — Big Horn County health officials reported Wednesday the death of a county resident.

The death raises the county total to 14. The patient was a man in his 60's. He had been hospitalized prior to his death.

State health officials reported on Wednesday that Big Horn County had a total of 552 coronavirus cases. There were 254 active cases in the county as well as 284 recoveries, according to the latest state report.

The Big Horn County COVID-19 Response Unified Coalition offers our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and the entire community of Big Horn County, the agency said in a press release.

"Big Horn County wants to remind all residents of the County to please stay home more often and to avoid events or gatherings," the press release states. "Also, the Board of County Commissioners and Board of Public Health ask everyone to wear a mask and social distance when outside of their homes and in public."

"Masks are required when engaged in indoor activities, such as shopping. Masks are not necessary in the event that residents are outdoors and unlikely to come within six (6) feet of other people, such as while taking advantage of our beautiful county, to work, recreate, or exercise."
