POLSON — A third COVID-19 related death in three days is being reported in the Mission Valley.

Lake County Public Health reported an eleventh COVID-19 related death on Wednesday morning.

"We are deeply saddened to announce that an eleventh Lake County resident has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection," a social media post reads.

The case was a male in his 80's. No further information will be released.

COVID-19 related deaths were also reported on Monday and Tuesday in Lake County.

Lake County Public Health reported an additional 33 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday morning.

There are currently 232 active cases as well as 815 recoveries.

To date, a total of 1,058 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Lake County.

Health Services Director Emily Colomeda said on Tuesday that the health department recently added three contact tracers to help keep up with the high number of positive cases.

Colomeda also noted that a large number of confirmed cases are untraceable at this time with community spread rampant throughout the Mission Valley.

She is encouraging residents to limit family gathering size to less than 10 people during the Thanksgiving holiday to avoid further super spreader events.
